All-season nature retreat. The Sunflower is our 16’ round, yellow Mongolian Yurt with dome windows, spring water, small fridge, cooktop, fireplace, heater, queen bed, fold-out single, lounge sofa, solar power, private and connected half bathroom w/compost toilet, back deck, private fire-pit area + shared wood-burning sauna. Peaceful with beautiful views and bird watching! Private 72 acre property. We live here with our 2 dogs and currently have 2 yurts and 3 cabins with guests. We are dog friendly but please inquire first before bringing your furry friend.

Placed perfectly in the center of serenity, where you can hear the flowing water of the Saugeen River! All seasons bring wonder, delight, beauty and awe at ReLive Retreat!

DETAILS: A year round, 4 season, off-grid, hike-in experience, with all the comforts. We provide as much as possible to make your 5min hike into the yurt site from the parking area as light as possible. The hike is primarily down-hill with interesting terrain and views. This yurt has one queen bed and a single fold-out, which can sleep up 2 people comfortably. It is a smaller space so please plan smart. Yurt comes equipped with everything you would need for your nature experience. Kitchenette with small sink, filtered spring water, a small fridge, 2-burner propane stove, silverware, basic utensils, small pots and pans, dish towels and soap, basic spices for cooking, french press for coffee or leaf tea, manual hand grinder for fresh ground coffee, dishes, cups, glasses, cutting knifes and cutting board. Everything you would need to create small meals and tidy up afterwards. We are creating a 'tiny living experience' within the natural environment! Our half bathroom is fitted with a Swedish urine-diverting compost toilet, a waterless urinal and a new sink (hand soap and towels provided).

We are developing unique experiences within nature, not a campground experience. Our hope is to inspire people to live connected with the natural world and to enjoy the peacefulness with all the comforts at a smaller scale. Items like extra tents or outdoor camping is not permitted.

PLEASE NOTE we are taking the following precautions:

  1. We have intensive cleaning guidelines, aligned with AirBNB’s policies. We have also invested in a ULV Disinfecting machine that instantly disinfects with an all natural/safe 99.99% effective product from EnviroNize (Health Canada approved).
  2. We currently do not provide bedding and linens. Please plan to bring your own CLEAN bedding and linens for your stay. If you arrive during check-in hours we can arrange to help take down your extra items with our atv/snowmobile.

ALSO NOTE:

  • At this time we do not have shower facilities set up. We do however have a wood burning sauna. For warmer month we can provide camp shower bags at the yurt and sauna for an easy rinse.
  • The yurt is for a maximum of 3 people. Please consider medium sized dogs as a person when planning your trip. For example, 3 people and a dog won't work due to the size of the yurt.
  • We do allow kids and babies, though extra care must be taken around all heat related elements and you will need to help them use the toilet properly. Everything is to Ontario building code. Also it is best for kids not to be afraid of dogs as we are dog friendly with dogs ourselves living here.
  • We recycle as much as possible, compost organics and conserve energy, promoting a respectful living experience with nature.
  • When it comes to getting around there is no transit. This is a rural experience and will require a car to get here.
  • Cars are not allowed past the parking area - no cars are allowed down at the off-grid sites.
  • 2-night minimum rental.

The yurt has a small wood fireplace in the centre of the space which is piped up through the central dome. Wood is provided for the stove. Information will be provided, along with tips for creating fires. There is also a direct vent propane heater to keep a base heat and for those not too handy with building fires.

The yurt is also equipped with a Goal Zero Yeti 400 solar generator with a 100 Watt solar panel to recharge. Indoor lights are connected to the battery, along with the heater fan and airflow fan for the compost toilet. You can use the battery to recharge your devices as there are 2 usb plugs and a normal plug. Just keep an eye on the power being used and the weather forecast so you don't run the battery out. We do not permit items like a hair dryer, electric grinder or any energy-intensive device as it has the potential to deplete the solar battery complete and instantly.

The compost toilet is a swedish design called Separett. It separates the urine from the solids keeping things cleaner and odorless. You will have to sit on the toilet for the urine to go into the right place. For men who do not like to sit to urinate, we have installed a waterless urinal. Please spray down after each use with the accompanying mister.

A wood burning sauna, built by our local Mennonite community is easily accessible along the trails for our guests to fire-up and enjoy. Firewood will be available alongside the sauna. Finnish countries have been known to use saunas to cleanse the body and clean it of all its toxins as a form of bathing. More information is available for you in the yurt.

We are occasionally dog friendly so please do inquire if you would like to bring your furry friend. We recommend keeping your dog on leash in the evening if you want them to hang outside at night with you as there are other wildlife on the property (deer, rabbit, porcupine, coyotes, beaver, etc). We do not allow off leash dogs during the night and ask to always keep an eye on your dog during the day so they do not wonder off. We have two dogs that live on the property with us who love meeting new guests pups. One is a big sheepadoodle who is a rambunctious sweetheart and his name is Happy. The other is a border collie, super smart. Be warned, if you start to play frisbee or ball with her she will not let you stop ;-) Her name is Boca.

Our property is one of a kind. Sunrises are magical and there is much diversity throughout the land and trails. There are 3 reforested areas, lots of old forest, a meandering meadow, hills, wetlands, apple trees, the Saugeen River, streams and a natural spring. Wildlife includes deer, rabbit, birds, wild turkeys and the occasional spotting (or hear them howl) of coyotes and fox. The valley of the property echoes so they do sound close sometimes even though they are a far distance away.

** Also, for ATV and Snowmobile trails, which are close to Priceville, come stay with us! Snowmobiles can ride down SLOWLY to the yurt sites.

All trails and sauna are USE AT OWN RISK.

About host

Milena + Johnny Parker

ReLive Retreat is a private, family-run nature resort created by Johnny & Milena Parker. We are a happy creative couple, with our two dogs, living in acres of paradise up in the Grey Highlands (Priceville, ON). We work on many things remotely in our small home and barn workshop and have 72 acres of beautiful land and nature cabins to share. We have 2 pups! One is a big Sheepadoodle boy named Happy and the other is a border collie, her name is Boca. We are in the first phases of developing a contemporary nature retreat that will expand up to 12 uniquely designed and integrated cabins. Each of its own uniqueness and design. We plan to make your stay as relaxing and as inspiring as possible. Contact us if you want anything special set up for special occasions as well!
